Rv parks near louisville,ky
Hi,
I am new to the forum and we are new to RV'ing. We are picking up our new 44 foot RV from Newmar in Napponee IN., middle of May. I need a recommendation for a very nice rv park in or near Louisville, KY that can accommodate this size vehicle. Next stop Nashville, TN.
thanks in advance for your educated assistance.

Below Louisville is Elizabethtown KY. A nice former KOA there. EZ in and out. Good for an overnight stop. AND if you gave an issue, Skaggs RV are a pretty good bunch of good old boys! They saved us with a hitch issue last summer and I will be forever grateful.

We just stayed at the Charlestown State Park in Charlestown IN, only 20 minutes from Louisville. Definitely recommend it too.

Clarksville KOA just north of Louisville on I-64. I think it's at exit 1

There are two campgrounds in Shepherdsville (about 10 miles south of Louisville), a KOA and Grandma's RV. Do NOT stay at Grandma's. Campground packed like sardines but worse the owner is an obnoxious jerk.
We've stayed in KOA many times since we have family on south side of Louisville. Not luxury but very nice and convenient to I-65.
If heading towards Lexington, the KY Horse Park campground is very nice.

This KOA is a dump, don't bother staying there. Go on down to Shepherdsville and stay at the KOA there. It's outrageously expensive for what you get but it's the only decent place to stay in the Louisville area. The other post was correct about Grandma's. The sites are VERY tight and the old man that owns the place is a POS.

Agree with Grandma's assessment. Stayed there over Christmas while visiting friends and relatives. Grandpa is having issues and his son or (son inlaw) running it is VERY unfriendly and rude. Park is clean. Gravel lots. If just need a quick overnight it is okay.

If you have a dog don't even stay over night at Grandma's. Very pet unfriendly. Even though more expensive stay at KOA. The have transient pull through sites that are easy in and out.

We stay at the Shepherdsville KOA all the time. They are always accommodating and it's easy in and out. Close to bourbon trail, a great vet if you need one, and close to interstate.
