RV Site Restrictions
Just completed a 11K trip from Florida in March, to Padre Island and then north to Glacier with everything in between. Then east to the Dakotas, south with everything in between, the balloon fiesta in Albuquerque NM. We have a 44 ft. Monaco Diplomat, towing an 07 GMC Pkup loaded with kayaks and bikes. Never had a problem finding a good place to stay, including COE, NP and SP's. Other than some places like Grand canyon, Yellowstone, Zion. we did not make reservations ahead of time. The technology most of us have on board makes it easy.

We have a 43 ft. DP and have found that there are several other limitations that affect using some state and federal campgrounds more so than length. First some have only 30 amp service, next leveling is a constant concern. I have encountered some sites that are ok, but the turns and approaches are so tight that it is just plain more trouble than it is worth. Also with budget cuts tree trimming has been cut back so overhead clearance can be a challenge. We like camping in parks and have found that most do a good job of describing the sites on-line, so we reserve when possible and can usually get a site that works. It's the last minute stops at parks that often get us into tight spots.

x2 for "Big rigs best bets" they will even tell you which site to ask for, also get a good truckers atlas so you can check out bridge heights.

I remember the ins co requested pictures inside and out because I wanted full coverage. I have full coverage.

I think that 10 year rule exists to keep junky, poorly kept RV's out of the park while not personally offending anyone. I'd bet your pictures will get you in anyway.

A lot of campgrounds-- public and private alike-- have rules of this sort. They are in place to give the management a mechanism by which they can prevent the park from becoming a squatters yard full of old wrecks that will never move again. They are rarely enforced, and then very selectively when someone like "Cousin Eddie" shows up.

We just ordered a 43 foot and realize our days of older State and National Parks that were built during the depression years are gone. Earlier year parks that were built in the 50's during the fad of travel trailers will also be out unless they have been upgraded. We have enjoyed those quaint old parks, but it was time for us to move on with our comforts in life.

Yep, you will see this at the High End Resorts and if it is NOT a Class A MH then forget about it. Even if you have a 5 Million Dollar Super C it's NOT welcome.

Not all high(er) end resorts are Class A only. Many are, but not all.

45'
I have a 40 ft DP and have only had a couple of State parks here in Florida not have sites large enough. Some are difficult to manuever around trees and such, but slow and easy works for me.
