RV Toilets

Been told, "Because I have a Thetford, I must replace wih a Thetford."
Sounds silly and bogus to me. What are your experiences?

That would be false. In my class A I went to a Dometic. No problem. Same hole size and bolt flanges.

Safe travels

Enjoy the journey

Thank you kindly. Sadly, our Camper World service and parts department are rather sketchy. I've learned to double check them.

Double check the measurements from the wall to the hole center to make sure the replacement will fit.

I only goto CW to give them poop i.e. dump my tanks as the one near me does not have their dump station behind a gate.

1st mistake.......going to CW
2nd mistake........listening to advice from CW
3rd mistake........having any work done at CW

CW OK for RV Items off the shelf etc but with Internet/On-Line shopping that makes CW not needed

CW may have made that statement for a couple of reasons. One, they may only have the same toilet available, but more than likely, they don't want you to change brands as they would have to replumb the fittings.

As stated, make sure the new one fits in the same space and is the correct height as some coaches had a raised toilet floor and some stools may have your feet dangling.

Some Thetford toilets are plumbed with their mounting studs at an angle I think 11 and 5 o'clock, where Dometic has theirs at 9 and 3 o'clock. Of course some Thetfords are like the Dometics and use 9 and 3 o'clock.

Our 2006 Thetford isn't on the "Old" list.

Strange but unless I am wrong the "Aria" That they consider an upgrade is no longer supported. I have one in my coach and consider it not very good.
It is the foot pedal one and the parts are practically non existent. The main part you need PN #19834 mechanism is listed "NLA"
It is hard to service and the bolt pattern is huge and destroys any hope of replacing with an upgrade without remodeling your floor. I have spare cables and know it is gonna fail.
It is a Classic all right....a classic POS!!
When I get back home after 5 months on the road I plan on redoing the floor and going with a Dometic 310. A much simpler design with great reviews.
Is this maybe an old chart?
