Rv water system

I have a 98 rexair. How do I hook the water up to the tank so I can leave water on? When i leave the water on the tank fills then runs out the overflow.

Usually, you hook up the city water, and then turn off the tank fill valve. This just puts all the city water to your plumbing, and none to fill your tank. Do you have such a valve? It may be broken or leaky.

The other common problem is that your water pump has a check valve, so that city water can not backfill the tank through the pump. This check valve might be leaky. Best of luck!

Are you putting a hose in your tank fill port or connecting to the "city water" connection point?

Tank fill port will overflow when tank is full, city water connection is like danhannah posted.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

You should have a changeover valve where the freshwater inlet is located. That valve switches in the inlet from the freshwater tank to the inside plumbing. You connect the hose, set the valve to the tank, fill it to whatever level you want, then change it back to inside plumbing. I've never seen an RV without a valve like this.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
