RV won't start because brake not engaged

Our 2011 Tiffin Allegro RV won't start and shows Brake not engaged. Where do we look to fix the problem? All batteries are fine and we closed all the slides ready to leave and it won't start.

If I remember correctly, at least on our 2014 Allegro Bus, the parking brake is controlled by the air brake system. Is yours?

If so, are the tanks showing at ride pressure? If so, then check the air lines to that switch.

The original poster may need a code reader and/or professional help as it may not be a brake issue. I had a friend with in a Phaeton that had the same symptoms and it turned out to be a failed transmission control module. Brake was fine just not registering correctly with TCM.

The ignition receives its "safe to start" info by wire, basically the presence of 12v on a circuit closed by the park brake to signal that it is ON. Either that signal is not arriving (loose wire, etc) or the air brake actually did not engage. First make sure the Park/Emergency brake button is pulled out and the rear wheel brakes actually set (brake air pressure dumped). If that is all working as designed, start tracing the wire that carries the signal. sorry, I don't know where that is on your coach.
