I just had mine installed a month ago. It helps keep the RV centered on the road. I notice I make less small adjustments to the wheel when I drive. It’s a minor improvement for me, but noticeable. I also hear it can help you keep control if you have a blow out. I hope never to be able to verify that!

I just added one a week ago also. The 35 mile drove home on I-5 was very nice, easy to drive. There is a bit more resistance to turning the steering wheel than before, but it was needed.

Before I added it, I felt like I was sawing my way down the highway attempting to stay in my lane. Now, I can let go of the wheel and the rig stays straight down the road. This was put on a Fleetwood 32 ft class A riding on a 2006 F53 22000 lb chassis. I feel it was money well spent for my needs. Added benefit is adding some ability to control a blow out. Hopefully, I won't ever need that...

You did not say why you are looking into one. Are you having issues with staying in your lane (as I was)? Are you looking the added protection in case of a blow out?

i added a safe t steer before i left for Port Charlotte in February first leg to the trip turned out to be 10 hr, driving was much easier. Also added Sumo springs and new shocks. well worth the investment.

On a DP I’d say NO...previous owner put one on my Navigator and after 4K miles I disconnected it as it made the coach more tiring to drive. Decided the only way I’d use it was to make it adjustable on the fly. Have a thread on my $70 adjustable mount I made last week: http://www.irv2.com/forums/f258/maki...le-451209.html Have not had the rig out yet but I’m sure it will be an improvement over a fix one. True Center makes an adjustable one (not sure of the cost) but the only way I’d put one on a DP is if it can be adjusted from the seat.

If you understand how the power steering works on a big rig, you are wasting your money thinking it will help in a blowout.
