Sandy water

Just pulled into a park in Silsbee, TX, hooked up my water line. First, all I get is a lot of air and then I noticed the water wassup dirty. Went outside, turned city water off and tried to use the on board fresh water. Same result. Now I am concerned that I have dirty water in my crash water tank. Certainly do not want to get sand in my water pump. I am at least 2 months away from changing the filters in the coach. Any thoughts, hints, or even ideas that show my ignorance will be greatly appreciated.

You might not 2 months away from changing filters! You may be late now.
I always went by how the filters perform even if it was short of the time.

Yep, I probably am later. Now I only have to find the filters in an area that is not flush with shops (of any kind!)

Filters are cheap. Repairs from damaged components isn't. Not sure what filtration system you have, but I always use a sediment filter as the first filter and change that one rather frequently, as needed.

We use the Camco blue in-line filter outside in the freshwater hose. That would have prevented your problem!

Not sure which water filter you have but you're right down the road from a Walmart which i think has a few house and refrigerator type filters. There's also an RV dealer, Sherrods, on hwy 327 west of Walmart. They carry a pretty good variety of parts and may have the filter you need. Parker Lumber, located on hwy 92 on the south end of Silsbee, is a building supply store that may have something as well.

Same here... even use it when filling the fresh tank.

'ounce of prevention.

Thanks everyone for your help. Managed to find one of my filters so everything is okay until I get home.
