Been drinking well water for 60 years, don't ever recall sanitizing water lines, just saying.

I full time and sanitize my tanks at least twice a year. I started using Purogene last year, but just once a year as it's pricey. However, it's easy to use and less toxic than bleach.

It's interesting that adding off-the-shelf lemon juice activates Purogene.
