We have a local trucking grainery nearby which has a single flat-surface platen scale which weighs the trucks empty, and then full when they leave. We have used their scale several times to get axle weights, with only 1 axle on the platen at a time.

Our local quarry's also have platen scales.

Every time I've looked at RVSEF's site, the only thing I see is where to get 4-corner weighing at the different events. I sent them a message via their site's "Contact Us", so I guess I'll soon see if the "they will come to you" has limitations. As far as the costing a bit more, this is something I don't mind since they're coming to me. However, I have my limitations as well, and don't expect to be crossing into the three digits just for a weighing .

As far a the local smokeys, they said a couple times that this is something that they don't do. While I've seen their DOT division crews out there on the roads, I've never had a chance to talk to them directly.

I had to talk to the "Vehicle Inspection" division. There were only 3 or 4 officers in the state that carry the scales and one of them lived 10 miles from me.
