Scanguage vs Ultra gauge
I was just about ready to order a ScanGauge - Trip Computer + Digitial Gauges + ScanTools, then I came across an Ultra Gauge Ultra-gauge.com.
I'm on the fence on which one to get, has anyone used either or both of these?

I have the Scan Guage II in my Ford F250 and like it. Cannot compare to the other unit as I have never even seen one.

Scanguage 2
I have had one for years in my car (Scanguage 2) and love it. Has been very useful in many situations. Especially good in just plugging it in to other peoples cars to either read or reset trouble codes.

I was interested in the Ultra Gauge, too, less expensive, but my year Roadtrek Sprinter, 2009, was not on the compatibility list and I could not get a response from the "customer service" for verification either way so I went with the Scan Gauge II. I'm satisfied with it.

My Scangauge II works great in my MH and use it in my little SUV the rest of the time.
Am very happy with all the info it gives me.
Have never used the Ultragauge, so no opinion there.

I have the Scan Gauge II, it's alright, but it's kind of a pain in the backside, unless you attach it to the dash or some where on the dash board with the velcro. Other wise it's in the way, but I also have to take into account that i place in front of steering column and it seems to want to slide all over the place.
I feel the Scan Gauge is more like an expensive toy.
I guess the difference between men and boy's is the price of their toy's!

Welcome to the RV world.
(I use a suction cup mount, right above the GPS, and it never moves.)

I like the ScanGageII, has worked in multiple vehicles and I could program it for tranny temp on my F53. Have read and cleared many codes on multiple vehicles. I velcroed it to stay put and the dual plug works nice, end plug on the RV and Jeep, back plug on my Safari van. Only problem I had is that it could not deal with the plethora of codes I got on my 5.3 Chevy in the Jeep swap when I miswired the O2 sensors. The gage Advanced Auto had decoded the info for me.

How do you like it? Does it do all it says it does? I like the form factor of it compared to the scan gauge.

been using a sg2 in my insight for years. very helpful having gauges available that honda did not include. i put it in the rv when we go on a trip. works great, velcroed to the dash. have also used it to read codes on several cars, no problems.

NO tranny temp available on Ultra Gauge.....that was enough to convince me to buy the ScanGauge even though I like some features of the Ultra better, like more gauges on one page and the lower price.

I finally decided on the Scanguage also. The tranny temp and the 25 additional gauges (over the Ultra) were the deciding factors.
