Schwintek Slide Not Fully Retracting One Corner

After pulling my 2019 Tiffin Open Road out of storage I noticed the the front bottom corner of the bathroom slide was sticking out a bit. I followed the steps on the slide alignment procedure I received earlier but now it's sticking out even more. Does anyone have any ideas I might try? Any documentation that might be helpful? Maybe a better alignment procedure than the one I have?

Call Tiffin this morning. There is a well-established method for re-syncing the slides. They can send it to you. It is also in the Files section of a number of Tiffin-specific forums and FB pages if you already belong to any.

Thanks for your suggestion. I did call Tiffin and was told that if only one corner was not retracting it would have to go back to the dealer since it was a motor or gear problem. Tiffin indicated that the realignment procedure will not fix it. Oh well I made the appointment for later in the week and hopefully it will be resolved then.

We have a similar problem with our bedroom slide. It's also a Schwintek and the upper rear corner will not extend - at all. Called Tiffin and was told it may be the motor. No way for me to access the motor so it's going in for service next week.

Hope we both have good luck getting it fixed!

I had the same problem with mine earlier. It turned out the motor had become unplugged. The tech guided me through the process of getting the slide corner out about 6 inches which allowed me to reach in plug in the motor, and put the wires back in the channel. I then did the re-sync procedure. This worked for a couple of years but now I am having the problem mentioned in the original post with the same slide. I'm pretty sure the gear jumped the track.

There is only 1 motor on each side in the Swintek in-wall system that drives a gear on each track thru a long shaft. So if only top or bottom is not fully out or fully retracted then it is likely that there is a broken plastic part called the shoe that forces each bearing block with the gear in it to follow the track so the gear can't skip a tooth in the track, which must have happened for top and bottom to get out of alignment. The track is aluminum so it can be damaged when the gear slips a tooth and tears up the track, but hopefully that has not happened.

You are looking at least 3-4 hours shop labor to resolve, and at least a few hundred dollars for parts. There's some good youtube videos posted by a mobile RV repair guy in the Northwest USA you can check out if you want to really understand the system and what it takes to work on it. Good luck.
