Sealtech Testing Experience??

Anyone have a recent experience with a Sealtech Testing Facility around the country?

Considering doing a test and maybe an ongoing maintenence schedule over the years ahead.

Sealtech testing is an annual "must do" for us. We attended an RV maintenance seminar (the resort at which we were staying was hosting it) soon after we bought our current RV and the presenter said the #1 thing we could do to extend the life of our RV was an annual Sealtech test.

As soon as we got home we called around to find a convenient location, and when I made our appointment the man asked me where our leak was. I told him we did not have one that I knew of, and then told him about the seminar. He said, "I wish more people followed that advice."

The test takes about an hour and they will show you video or a series of still photos of the results.

Be aware that not all Sealtech test sites are shown on the Sealtech website. In 2012 a new owner took over the company and they do not have a comprehensive list from the previous owner. So call around to nearby RV service centers if you do not see a close by one on their website. We had thought we would have to drive 5 hours, but by calling around found one only 1-1/2 hrs away.

What is the typical cost to have the test run?

We paid around $179. I have seen the test offered for less while we were on the road, but we thought the price we paid locally was fair.

What to expect: they will put your coach under positive pressure inside, then spray the roof of the coach and around the windows and door(s) with a soapy liquid. Bubbles will form where there is air leaking out. When they have finished the test, they will rinse the coach off thoroughly and then show you the pictures they took. Bubbles around the bottom corners of the door or a window are not necessarily a big deal. Bubbles on the roof or on top of a window or door are!
