Cool Searching for Class A (30-33ft) motorhome

My husband and I are interested in getting a Class A motorhome 30 to 34 ft preferably. Something that is very comfortable for 2 people but can sleep 4 to 6 if possible. We live in WV and want to go look at all different kinds of models...where is the largest variety dealer near WV? If we find a motorhome at a dealer..what is the markup for new and used? TUIA for any help u may give!

After buying a new and our first Motorhome, we knew we had not done our homework. Ouch! Wiser, we bought the 2016 and then the 2018 Motorhome Comparison Guide by Randal Eaton. This is a MUST for newbies. We researched, checked recalls, read reviews, and knew without a doubt we wanted a Tiffin. We bought a Class A 2011 Tiffin Allegro Bus 36QSP. Had it inspected; Seller took care of some minor issues; had it re-inspected; purchased a 10-year-Warranty covering everything except paint, belts, filters and such. Hope you take my advice. Good luck!

Searching for ClassA 30-33ft motorhome

Thank you MsHappyCampers, MsDetour and Cousin Ed! MsDetour, my husband has been leaning toward the Tiffin motorhomes also. I liked the Itasca Sunova 30A but they are hard to find around me so we have not gotten to inspect one. He likes the layout of the open road SA1 and we haven’t been in that one either. I will look for the books you suggested!! TU for the help everyone!! Now... to begin more homework! We are taking our time to find the right one for us.

When we started looking a few years ago it was a lot to learn. The Hershey show is a huge show with all brands on display. There is no comparison in going to the show or a dealer! You will be able to walk through all models in all price ranges and open and close cabinets, stand in showers and sit on beds, you will be surprised in the difference in quality between manufacturers, even in the same price point.

We are in Maryland and like you have found it is hard to find good dealers of the higher end coaches. I wish they'd open a NIRVC here!

Good luck it's an educational experience!

We had a Winnebago Intent come in next to us. I had not seen those, so went on RVT.com just to take a look. They have a 30-31 ft. model. I'm not recommending it as I know nothing about it, but I thought it looked like something I'd want to look at if I were looking at that size.

The Intent is a new line of class A from Winnebago that is now their lowest priced line.

It has a few less do-dads than their higher priced lines. It also has a lower cost roof system than the other Winnebago motorized lines, with a membrane top layer rather than fiberglass.

You should consider lightly used Class As you can save many thousands of dollars vs. a new one. You can use RVtrader.com to look around for both new and used and get some knowledge about pricing.

If this is your first RV you really need to get some knowledge about RV pricing , the discounts are crazy huge and a lot of first time buyers overpay for their first RV not knowing the huge markups.

Looking for 30 to 33 foot (max) motorhome

Powercat_ras,
That is exactly what we have been trying to learn!! We had already decided we needed to go used but do NOT know what the mark up is on these. How do we find that out as we have never done negotiating to get things but know we can not pay the prices we have been seeing for the ones we have liked. So..my question is, how do we learn the markups on used motorhomes that we have interest in and about what we should really pay vs the asking price?? I would appreciate any advice on this! Are the rvt and rvtrading prices the prices to pay or are they marked up too?? Very confusing for a first time buyer and we do NOT want to make a mistake if we can help it! TUIA for any input anyone may be able to give us! We really appreciate all of you and can’t wait to join all the FUN out there!!

Still shopping

We have been trying to find a USED Newmar Ventana 3436 or comparable size. If anyone sees one out there please let me know. Preferably on East coast vs west coast.

Assuming you've looked on rvt.com? If not, there are several there.
