The recent thread regarding
factory warranty for 2nd owners got me thinking (not good)
.
We recently purchased our 1st MH and find there are
LOTS of things to be done to "keep up the maintainance" on the chassis, engine etc. We also purchased an extended warranty contract with Good Sam and note that all the required maint. must be kept up to factory requirements (but not necessarily by factory dealers) for coverage to exist. Two questions:
1. Purchased from a dealer with no knowledge of prior owner nor maintainance records.
2. What if I miss a time requirement while waiting on the mileage requirement. Example - Cummins requirement to check valve settings at 150k miles or 4 years. Though no where near 150k miles this '04 coach is past due on the 4 years.
Wonder just how strict Good Sam would be if it appeared an owner was trying to do the right thing?
We are about to have a 60k check done plus all the "time" items we can find (60k seems to be the first really big check) however cannot prove any prior maint.
