Securing A Step Ladder to Back of RV

What is the best method of securing a step ladder to the back of an RV? I just bought a new 6 ft step ladder and would like to carry it attached to my rear ladder of the RV, but I am not sure if I can as I now have our two bikes on a hitch secured to the RV ladder. Has anyone found any latches that can be bought to use to secure their ladder to the back of the RV, or are most people just tying their ladders down?
Thanks,
Dave

A photo of the bikes installed would help

You don't say what kind of coach you have. Our Excursion does not have a pass-through storage compartment, but it does have three adjacent compartments that are open to each other. I store my 6-foot ladder in this area.

dlduck..... Camco makes a formed hanger designed to hang stuff on the RV ladder. Got to Amazon, PPL, Camping World and search for Camco chair hanger. About $12-$14 . Works like a champ! I've been carrying my 40 Lb folding ladder on one for four plus years.

Ditto Johns' comments.

I had one of these for so many years I cannot remember. At least three RV's.
We just replaced ours last week because the rubber was coming off.

Bunjies keep things tight and a bicycle cable lock keeps it in place. I had our ladder powder coated to match the RV so it blends in.

My wife says that an RV with a ladder strapped to the back looks like a vehicle out of the dust bowl or Grapes of Wrath.

Your wife is a very astute person, I would add 'Clampetts' to the description. But sometimes there is no otheroption and life without a ladder could be worse than life without a DW.

I had a great response, but I'm not going there.

I also got my ladder holder from CW and cut swimming pool noodle to go over 2 rungs to keep the ladder from making marks on the step. Keep it in place with 2 Bungey Cords.

Yeah, God knows you wouldn't want to offend the sensibilities of some total stranger who might see you on the highway.

Your not going to like my answer, so I'll just straddle the dam thing when I see it on the road.

I am worried that a ladder like that might get lost one day in a fuel stop or camp ground at night. Anyone especially if bungy cords are all that hold it. Anyone lost stuff strapped like that before (stolen)?

Bike lock wrapped around the two ladders should foil most attempts to steal it.
