Seeking guidance on new fulltime rig.

Hello All!

My wife are looking for a class A to full time in. She and I have been full timers for a year now. We were recently rear ended on the highway and had our rig totaled. The insurance is paying out so we are now in search of a new home. Which may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Our last rig (2006 Jayco JayFeather ultralight towed by a 1500 FWD Suburban) wasn't in great shape after a year of living in it. We weren't that happy with it and now having had some experience living in a poorly built travel trailer we are hoping to find a home that both fits our budget and will be durable enough to live in.

I still have the Suburban and would settle with finding a new trailer to pull that will be a bit more durable. The Suburban can tow 6000-8000ish lbs. Not well, but it can do it. My Jayco was 4600lbs dry. We struggled up steep mountains. Any trailer brand suggestions would be very helpful!

I would most ideally want to take the 10k I am getting from the insurance company and combine it with what I could get for the suburban (5-6k maybe) and use it all to purchase a motorhome.

Do you guys have any suggestions as to which rig might be in my wheelhouse? Which is 15k-16k.

I could use any guidance you can offer. Thx.

That is going to be a tall order...unless you can find financing for an older Class A..
Year models will be somewhere in the late '90's to very early 2000's and most likely would be a entry level, non slide gasser.
