Seeking LARGE windshield shade?

Can anybody refer me to a retailer who can supply an extra large windshield shade for my 2000 National Sea Breeze? TIA.

I would just buy a big roll of Reflectix from Home Depot.

I bought a roll of the 4' Reflectix from Camping World when we got the MH back in 2012, and cut it to fit the windshield!

My opinion is a sunscreen on the outside which prevents the heat from coming thru and heating glass. You can also see thru it I made mine which looks pretty good but for a small fraction of a custom one.

I have been using the CW reflective wrap for several years...it's a PITA to place & then remove & roll up to fit in a bay. This last summer with the virus we elected to stay in Mesa...what once was a pit in the windshield is now part of an elaborate crack necessitating a new WS.

My recomendation is to go with the external shade to keep the heat on the outside.

We used a 4ft reflectix roll for a while, but became a PITA as mentioned. We when purchased some 48in wide room darkening panels, and upholstered them on the glass side of our current window curtain. Now we just close the shade and it blocks and insulates at the same time.

Just so you know, once the heat gets through the windshield, you've lost quite a bit of the battle to keep the coach cool. The heat needs to be stopped on the outside. Even if you cover up the windshield from the inside, the heat is still there, between the cover and the glass. Your A/C or fans are still going to circulate that heat.

Yes some heat still gets in but its a lot less heat, during the hot summer days here in Vegas if I don't use the heat shield inside my front and south facing side windows my A/C will never get the RV cool enough during the day to cycle on and off, with the inside heat shields my A/C's will cycle on and off..

And during the winter months the heat shields work great to keep the heat in, the sunscreen that goes on outside the window won't do anything for the winter months.

This is the winner. I like it because it's a finished product that just happens to fit my windshield. Or, actually, it's a little smaller, vertically, which hasn't presented any issues in the 10 years or more I've been using it.

I sewed some loops along the top and bottom, so I can hook it onto suction cups that stick to the windshield. It can just hang, or I can attach it to suction cups along the bottom, too.

A big advantage over a roll of Reflectix is that it folds up accordion style instead of rolling, so it's much easier to store. And it has the nice finished edges.

I'm surprised that no one in this thread has mentioned Magne Shade (https://www.magneshade.com/

They make a superb product which is mounted on the outside using high strength magnets. They have the necessary measurements on file for most, if not all, motorhomes, even our 20 year old one.

We replaced our old MCD sunshade with a Magne Shade last spring. The new fabric blocks >90% of the sunlight compared with 80% for the shade it replaced. There was a noticeable improvement in heat rejection.
