SeeLevel Tank Monitor Upgrade, thought I'd share

The wife and I full time and one of the things we were always worried about were the tank levels. We would monitor the levels and when they got close to 70% we would tend to open the cabinet doors as a reminder. I got online and found that Garnet Industries had a monitor that also had an alarm output. I ordered it, direct replacement, and added the red light as the alarm. I have it set at 90% for both grey and black tanks and it works perfectly. Thought I would pass it along.

Uses existing wiring and sensors? This would be better than waiting for the grey to show in the shower....

The SeeLevel monitor has its own sensors and are not compatible with the 1/3-2/3 sensors. The Allegro Bus comes with SeeLevel as standard equipment but it can be added to almost any tank setup fairly easily.

Don't be scared of the SeeLevel system. An acquaintance has one and I'm impressed... it's one of those systems that Just Plain Works.

There are several YouTube videos that walk you through the installation.
There are models with 2, 3 and 4 tanks (they refer to them as fresh, black, grey and galley), with and without the water pump switch, with and without the LPG display, and one with the water heater switch. All have a battery condition display. The system is on my to-do list, and I'll be using the one with the pump switch, water heater switch, and the display for 3 tanks, LPG and battery condition.

The sensor strips attach to the outside of your tanks. You abandon the old sensors in place and disconnect the existing wiring from them. Each of the See-Level sensors needs two wires and each wire must run back to the display... most older 1/3-1/2-2/3 systems use 4 wires per tank so re-using the old wires is easy. Multiple lengths of sensors are available to fit any size tank. The final step - swapping the display panel - is the worrisome item (to me) as in some cases you will have to adjust the hole in the paneling, and making holes smaller (advanced woodworking) is not in my personal skillset.

I have yet to see a negative review of a properly installed See-Level system.

Just look at the spec sheet, and the model comparison sheet: https://www.garnetinstruments.com/wp...Chart-2018.png

hit the nail

I put these in, works like a dream. Now I wonder why I put up with the factory failure for so many years. Older and lazier I guess.

I installed See Level on 2 previous coaches and they worked great every time. No issues over a period of 15 years. I am considering installing them on our present coach as the KIB brand that Newmar installs is fine for fresh and gray water, but a real problem for the black tank.
