Selling an older RV (97 Beaver Patriot)

Im thinking about selling my 37 1997 Beaver Patriot.

Ive never sold an RV. Do any of you have suggestions on the best way to do it?

It runs great but has a few minor things that need to be fixed. The speedometer isnt working for example.

Should I find someplace local to do consignment, or just try to sell it privately on Craigslist?

RVTrader.com and RVT.com are a couple of the big sites for listing your coach and reaching a nationwide audience. Those sites will also give you a good idea of what others are asking for similar coaches.

We have bought and sold a few coaches including a 97 Windsor. It takes some effort on your part. I try to have everything repaired for the new owners. It's an indication of how well you cared for the coach.
Take lots of pictures (30+) and write up a good description. Have someone proof read it.
Post your ad on IRV2, RVT.com, RVTrader.com, and even eBay. The more exposure the better. You are only looking for one person, but it is very selective.
If you are close to PPL motorhomes in TX they seem to do a good consignment business. I would not recommend Pops RV as they have the worst ads I've seen with coaches priced $100k over the market.

Before selling, I would fix any of the things that don't work. As a perspective buyer, if I heard the coach needs some simple fixes, I would wonder what other maintenance items were ignored and then walk away. The discount on the asking price would be far greater than the cost of fixing a couple "minor" problems.

When we bought our 2004 Newmar Mountain Aire DP two years ago from a private party, EVERYTHING in the coach worked properly and all the maintenance was current and the maintenance records were complete.
