Selling Class A to downsize

Anyone have suggestion on the best way to sell a 2018 Class A Diesel Motor Home except to get wholesale price from a dealer? We are getting up in age (76) and want to downsize to a Class C.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks,

Now is a good time to sell prices are high. I traded up and had a hard time last year finding a good DP
I listed my old gas HR 36' on Facebook Marketplace and sold the next day.

I know you may not want to hassle with buyers etc. Don't put up with crappy questions. I bought my 06 from a late 70's couple and they were so happy that I wasn't just a tire kicker that we have been friends since.

Keep in mind, if you sell outright, and buy outright you will pay sales tax on the entire amount of your new coach. Although I suspect since your downsizing, your old coach may be worth more than the new on. Maybe a dealer will give you cash and a class C. Never hurts to ask.

WELCOME to iRV2.com.

In this market, I doubt you will have any trouble selling your coach, at a good price. There is a FREE classified listing section HERE on iRV2.com and you are welcome to advertise there, including pictures, but can't do that in the forums.
Look for the link to classifieds up top under the banner picture.

Another possibility is a consignment sale with an outfit such as PPL in Texas. https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/

There are three ways to sell an RV:
1. Sell to a dealer (at wholesale)
2. Have an agent sell it for you (consignment)
3. Sell it yourself (by owner)

#1 is a major financial hit, especially if your RV is not a model the dealers deem an easy sale. You get about 60% of the average current market value, but you drop off the coach and collect your check. Easy Peasy.

#2 involves contracting with a selling agent (usually a dealer), who may or may not do a good job of presenting your rig to potential buyers. The agent may also be more interested in a quick sale than a high dollar one, even though his commission (typically 10%) increases a bit with a higher selling price. Consignment buyers are usually bargain hunters. You also have some insurance concerns while the rig is on a dealer lot or being test-driven. Last, you may still have some involvement in the sale, e.g. a buyer asks for a discount or some repairs.

#3 gives you total control of the asking and final selling price, and any negotiations concerning it. You are also responsible for arranging advertising, responding to inquiries, etc. However, you also have to deal with tire kickers, bargain hunters, unsolicited calls from sales people wanting to help you out (for a fee, of course), arranging payment, etc. You maximize your dollar return but at sometimes considerable time & effort of your own.

Keep in mind buying and selling in open forums is not allowed per the Community Rules.

I normally use RVtrader.com or Craigslist to buy and sell RVs.
You will lose a lot of money if you trade in or sell to a dealer. I have traded in a couple of times when I did not think the current RV would sell very quickly.

Now is a good time to be a seller.

Camping World also sells consignment units, that's where/how we bought ours.
