Separation of counter and backsplash?

Hi once again i have a question that i can’t quite figure out.
We have a 2005 safari gazelle quad slide RV.
On the front driver side slide. Kitchen cabinets, sink, countertops + couch with overhead storage. I have noticed that the countertop and backsplash has separated about 1/2 inch. Does anyone know why this would be happening? Any help would be appreciated, i’m a little nervous about it.

try pushing the counter top back in place. Let us know if that works. If it goes back to original, then the silicone holding the top to the cabinets has failed. It's pretty common and not a difficult fix..

Same thing happened to me.

What I found is that the counter was poorly supported, it was elevated off the cabinets in the corners and had long spans with no support.

Unfortunately my countertop actually developed a crack due to the sage. I had a toaster oven sitting on the counter and the weight caused the sag. I tried to push the countertop back up and then screwed a block below. The crack closed a little, it tried to use colored epoxy to fill it in but it's still visible.

WindsorBill it actually has dropped instead of moving out from the backsplash. I should have said it had dropped.

The other answer to add a block to raise the cabinet back up is a good suggestion but it is on a slide out and not sure how to do that with it moving in and out.
Thank you both for the ideas.

Sounds like the cleats that are attached the wall have either failed or were inadequate,

There are 2 ways to fix it, but you need to replace/reinforce the supports.

The countertop was attached to the top of the cabinet with silicone. You can either remove the countertop (going to take multiple people to lift it plus you have to disconnect all plumbing/propane, electrical that is connected to countertop), or raise up the countertop from underneath and rebuild the cleats or come up with some other type of support.

If your uncomfortable doing it yourself, you can google 'solid surface installers' and talk to them.

If it's been sagging a long time, the corian remembers the shape and it may be difficult to get it back to it's original flat level finish.
