Serpentine belt

Looking for a part number for a serpentine belt so I can bypass the a/c compressor. It’s for a 2008 Holiday Rambler with a Cummins isc 315 / 330 . I replaced the belt with my spare not realizing that the a/c compressor was the issue and as you may have guessed smoked my spare . I read on some old forms different people have done this I just need a part number for the shorter belt. Down and out in Cecil Georgia. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Is it the Clutch thats locked up or the compressor? Depending on what’s not turning a new clutch not hooked up should “freewheel” and you may be able to get back on the road with a new proper belt for the time being

Take a piece of string and route it as required. Measure and subtract a half inch for the tensioner.

Not being smart but it’s easier to change the whole unit than just the clutch . Which I will have done once I get home.

Welcome iRV2 .

Sorry your first post is about problems .

Is the A/C compressor mounted above the alternator ?

Does your coach have a rear or side radiator.

There have been several posts about the " by-pass belt " but I believe most involve the ISL side rad like this picture.

It is a rear rad and yes a/c is above the alternator.

I have this photo of the belt numbers for a rear rad ISL that a member posted.

If your original belt number is the same, then the short belt should be the one you need.

My belt is a K080839 . Unfortunately it looks like I get to do it the hard way . I have the original belt and will cut it square and run it around less the a/c and measure it. Was just hoping somebody would have a number and save me a little work. Thanks for trying. I will come back and post a part number when I get it going.

I'm not 100% up on Gates belts, but I believe the numbers mean 8 grooves 83" for the long one and 8 grooves 72.6 " for the shorter one.

EDIT: so if you measure and you get 11" shorter I think you'll be in the ball park.

I blew the A/C compressor on my 2014 ISL450. I took the old belt and went to Napa and bought two belts that I thought would work.

The belt that fit was a Napa 25-080726. I'm guessing the ISL450 and yours are running the same belts. With that said, there is an idler pulley in the center of the engine (one bolt) that needs to be removed as it blocks the shorter belt.

Make sure you hold the tensioner in the correct position for the measurement.

That will make ordering a lot easier. I’m having trouble posting a picture of the belt routing but I’m sure I can go straight from the top of the fan to the alternator bypassing 1 idler and the a/c

Looking at Skip's picture, (which looks a lot like the front of my engine), why would you need to eliminate the idler pully?

Almost looks like if you did, your belt would be rubbing when it passes the water pump.
