Setting up portable dialysis equipment in motor home.

I’m looking for advice and help on how to manage a portable dialysis configuration in my motor home. I need to configure a setup for Hemio dialysis. Unfortunately, peritoneal dialysis is not an option. Right now I have zero experience with any of this. Please, I welcome any helpful information experienced RVer’s can provide.
Thanks,
Joe

There is extensive training required before any competent medical professional would issue you the prescription for the equipment and treatment tailored to your situation. Suggest you first visit the web page below and talk to your physician. Sounds like your plan is ultimately doable, but there will be some lead time required.

Best of luck with your plans and wishing you the best.

I was going to look into using HHD for my father at one time and did a lot of research several years ago. He passed away before I could get him to travel with us in the motorhome but it still interested us a bit as I may be on the verge of needing dialysis. However, we ultimately decided to give up RVing awhile ago.

You've probably heard of Harvey Wells? If not, watch the video below and it will give you some insight. It was back in 2012 and I do know there have been a few advancements in HHD machines since then. I was looking at that SC+ with some interest when it came out (HERE) but still not FDA approved for use in the U.S.

I too wish you the best with it. After conferring with your nephrologist and getting the proper advice, don't let it get in the way of traveling in a motorhome if that's what you really want to do. Safe travels always.

My husband and I have been doing HHD for 6 years and have done so in a motorhome for the last 2+ years. It's actually quite easy to set up. It's really the only way to travel with dialysis. Airlines are required to carry 100 pound machine but getting fluids delivered to destinations is problematic. Rving solves that because you carry the fluids with you. We're getting ready for 4 month trip to East coast from SF next month assuming Trump hasn't placed a travel ban on the entire country. Since we can only carry about 2 1/2 weeks of fluids in RV we'll pre-stage supplies around the country at friends or at PO Plus.
Not sure how private messaging works so send email to me sfopilot@yahoo.com.
