Shocks Replacement

Looking for a shop to do the installation of 10 replacement shocks for a 2008 Monaco Dynasty w/tag. I’ve gotten a quote from a shop in Texas for 1 hour @ $125 per each shock. That sounds a bit high to me, anyone recently had there shocks replaced and at what cost? Any recommendations around the Houston area?
Thanks

I can attest that shock replacement isn't a quick thing on an RV.

Shock Replacement

I have an eight airbag chassis, 4 shocks in front 2 in rear. I can easily do the front 4 in 2 hours without rushing, Had a mechanic come to my house for the rear since I did not want to get up in the suspension and get dirty. By the way I am 85. I am fortunate having a truck mechanic that comes to my house at $40 per hour. See if you can find a truck mechanic that does side work. Worker from small shop may by best best.

I just did 10 on my Monaco this past weekend, it took me and a buddy about 4 hours. So the shop isn't that far off if they quoted 10 man hours. I am sure if it wasn't my first time doing them we could have shaved a little time off. Its just very awkward on a few of the locations.

I think it's outrageous. I've changed the shocks on a Diplomat (RR8R - shocks) and a Knight (RR4R - 4 shocks). With an air gun, I was able to knock out each shock in about 15 minutes. Three hours would be reasonable. I would love to watch; they would be hard pressed to stall and take an hour on each shock.

If you had to pull the wheels to do it, it would be a different story, but no need to. I know things are more expensive now, but I would look around, maybe a local tire store, you don't need a repair shop to do shocks.

Safe-T-Plus in Tallapoosa charged me $500 to install 4 new shocks (installation only Aug. 2021). Bought the Koni shocks. Not sure I even notice the difference compared to the original shocks installed at the factory. Sure wish I could get that money back! Oh well....
