Shop Labor rates in Oregon

For the first time in 8 years I want to use a truck shop for some maintenance service on my rig.

Here in NorCal the shop rate seems to be $140 per hour.

Since I will be traveling to Oregon in the near future, I could have the work done there.

Does anyone have knowledge of the shop rates in Eugene or surrounding area?

For the good shops, (premier rv, source engineering ect) I believe $125.
I would encourage you to call ahead as most all good shops are booked weeks out right now.

Oregon Motorcoach Center | Premium RV Service | Eugene, OR. labor rates are $115/hr. If you belong to one of the CC clubs, you can get 10% off of parts. OMC has the highest concentration of ex CC employees of any service facility anywhere. They can handle anything on your coach except alignment.

Another place I use is RV | Motorcoach Service | Upgrades | Repair | Custom Coach Service. He spends the winter in the Palm Springs area but has a shop in Junction City. He does not do chassis work.

For cabinet and electronic work Amazing Creations in Junction City is the place to go to. They also do flooring and counter top replacements.

I have used all three with excellent results

Not in Oregon but you might give these folks a call in Yreka, CA right off I-5. They did repairs on my RV, loaned me a vehicle and did a great job at a reasonable price. I don't remember the cost but they replaced the fan bearing on my C-7 without removing the radiator. https://plus.google.com/104401870600...ut?gl=us&hl=en
They also have a shop in Ashland, OR.

I've also had work done at Henderson's in Grants Pass but don't remember the rate. Henderson's stands behind the work they do - there was a glitch in an alternator repair they did on my RV and they spend several more hours working out the glitch without charging me. That was great.

Oregon law does not protect RV owners when it comes to the right to an estimate before work is done. But, if you don't pay your bill, the mechanic's lien law allows them to hold onto your coach, and sell it if you don't pay your bill. The lack of protection for RVs is an exception that was purposely carved out when the law was passed. Demand an estimate before work is begun. Read whatever you sign carefully. If it doesn't provide for an estimate and approval before work begins, write it in and initial it, then ask the service manager to initial it as well.

Depending upon the type of work, add Kevin Waite to the mix, as well as the mothership of CC.

Another nice kicker, is no sales tax. Our next set of new shoes, will be scheduled thru a trip to Oregon!

Best,
Smitty

Dean, I am sure you will be very satisfied with OMC. I have had them install Road King shocks, a new radiator, wheel bearing, slide seals, and a few other things. All have been done to my satisfaction.

They do have electrical hookups with water and dump available.

While in the JC area, if you like ice cream, head to a Dairy Mart and get some Lockmead brand. The best I have had since Grader's in Cincinnati

Thanks Don,

Sad to say, I am not a gourmet of ice cream......but I am very easy when some is offered!

So tasting some Lockmead from Dairy Mart is now on the agenda.
