Took my coach in for new fuel filters and air dryer service today. Shop rate is now $205 per hour! Is this high or normal for now days? I知 in the northwest Nevada area.

Here in NC I pay $125 per hour at a big truck service center that also services RV's. The shop I use for the house side is $150 per hour. Both are locally owned and have been in business over 25 years. I am very fortunate to have these folk within 12 miles of the house.

Looks like you are in Mound House. I just moved from Carson City and had all of my annual servicing done for 12 years at Performance Auto Care, 4520 Oak St, Carson City. (775) 883-3190.

Last service was October 2021 and the shop rate was $135/hour. I supplied all filters.

Last time I was in a Freightliner shop was in 2017. Rate was $180/hr for motorhomes...$135/hr for semi trucks.

That's high for that kind of service that doesn't really need highly trained tech , more like advanced diognostic rate. That being said, if they are not milking the hours for the work done.
I forgot hours exactly charged for job of swapping a plastic cooling tank to same part an owner share. I'm sure I could of done it blindfolded in half the time. Other same jobs like cummins cracked exhaust done by owners in half the hours charged.

Todays diesel technicians are highly-trained, mostly due to all the electronics and EPA stuff involved. The HDT repair shop I patronize charges(or did) me $165/hr. when working on my MH.
They are so busy that when I called to schedule an oil change N filters for drive engine and genset, they were scheduling 4 weeks out
The shop owner told me he was having so much difficulty hiring people who would come to work every day is the reason for the long-advanced scheduling. He pays his mechanics $38/hr, the rest is business expenses and profit to stay in business.
