It is your rig, go with the biocide. We had some expensive injector repairs at 80k miles and I think deteriorating fuel was the issue. I then learned about biocides. The posters that say no problem will not be there to help you when you have a problem.

I have given up on diesel treatment. I change the fuel filter yearly and keep the fuel tank full when stored.

It costs no more to keep a fuel tank full than empty.
