Shower Modification Question

When I get my Class "A" there is one change that I have to make due to my condition. I suffered a brain injury that causes me to lose bearing when I close my eyes for any period more than a few seconds.

I have to take a shower sitting down. Doing some research I found shower wall inserts for homes that have a seat molded into the wall.

Are most Class "A" showers one piece fiberglass or made up from several pieces?

If they are several pieces it would be easier to modify but if most are one complete piece it will be a major undertaking and I may have to settle for just putting a shower chair in the shower.

Depending on what Motorhome you are are considering, many come with a seat molded into the wall. Good luck with your search.

I can only speak about my current Thor Hurricane. The shower looks to be similar to the cheap home depot type shower/tub surrounds and there just isn't enough strength in the walls to hold much weight. If you have not bought the RV yet, you may want to search for one that has the seat mentioned above.

Just get a stand-alone shower seat/bench. You can lay it down in the shower when your traveling. Some fold. If you want one that is attached to the wall, look for a model with front legs.

Thanks Bruce and Arby, I didn't realize certain models came with seats, that's great.

My American Coach Eagle has one, folds up, not molded in, appears like it could be added, but I know it came from factory with it.
....says "Panco Cesana" on the label. Not sure about capacity, but it'll hold my 200 lb butt.

My fleetwood terra 35k comes with a large 1-piece fiberglass shower with a large built in seat, the bounders have the same showers also. Check rv trader as there are many pics of the terra and bounder 35k showers. This was one of the must haves for us also when we purchased.

Our bathtub has a (small) seating area... I'd be really nervous about adding an additional seat without careful research into where the bolts holding it were going. That said, at least for mine, on the other side of the wall is a small cabinet is it could have been an option.
