Hi all,

In our RV shower, there is an inside skylight/dome, and then there is the outside one.

Last year, the outside one got a pretty large hole popped in it (don't ask how...), so I patched it with some UV plexiglass and metal roofing screws, and sealed that around the edges with silicone. Worked great for last summer.

Not sure if this is related, or normal, but the outside skylight SWEATS a lot. So I just sealed the tops of all the screws, in case the rubber was allowing them to leak a bit, and took the INSIDE skylight out, wiped out the sweat droplets, and I'm running a fan up into there to dry it out overnight.

Is sweating normal between these skylights?

If so, is there a good way to make it stop?

I've attached a couple pictures of the broken & patched skylight, just for fun... and possibly some nasty remarks...

Oh, btw, I do plan on replacing this cover... next year... hot water heater took precedence this year.

If it didn't sweat before the hole, it shouldn't sweat after the repair. So no it is not normal. It is very possible water did wick down the screws and get the plywood wet. So drying the area for the next day or so then reinstalling the inside cover is a good plan. Then keep an eye on it. If it continues to sweat, you've still got a leak.

I don't know if it did sweat before it broke or not, as we just bought it last June, and had not used it before I accidentally leaned on it EVER so slightly and put my hand through it, while patching around it... It was pretty brittle...

I'll run the fan on it overnight and all day tomorrow, or until it's a nice day again, maybe this weekend, and put it all back together, see what happens.
