Side mirror demolished
We are on a trip and this happened when a truck forced me to swerve into a wall while going over the connewingo dam in Pa. Bad day. Sorry for the sideways pics

I sympathize with this situation. No mirrors, no driving!
On a trip along the Grand Canyon, I was on a narrow two lane cliff side road when a semi came around the corner at me, and got so close that the tip of our mirror touched. Fortunately it did not break off, but the noise scared the hell out of us and we had to get it repaired when we go to our destination.

Glad you are all safe. Surely rattled but thankfully safe. Keep us updated on the repairs.

Did you get tag or name from truck?
If truck was in your lab then they could be considered at fault.
Many insurance policies have uninsured motorist coverage for times like this but you need license plate or maybe company name on truck.

connewingo dam
Damn that dam. I've been over it many times to avoid the toll on rt95. The first time over it a observed an odd outline of an approaching vehicle way down the the other end of the dam.
For those unfamiliarity with this passage, the dam has a wall going north that is about a foot from the white line. very tight normally and for a first timer a bit scary. the down side of the dam is about 200 feet to the rapids and the up side is level with the lake
I had a difficult time trying to figure out if we would be able to pass each other on the midway span. I was so concerned that I simply stopped and waited for the approaching vehicle to pass by. As it turned out it was a a big tri-axle tow truck pulling a disabled tractor trailer. Sure glad I stopped while he passed by as he did use a little of my space.
Shop the internet for used or new mirrors. Or file a claim.

Yes, it was...loud too! From the noise, the wife was sure the whole side of the coach needed a makeover, luckily it was just the mirror.

Nope. Happened so fast. That poor chap was just trying to make it thru as well...just an accident fair and square.
