Side Out Question

Because of a water leak most of the floor under the slide out got soaked. I already started drying out the wood underlayment by pulling out the carpet/foam pad up to where it goes under the side out sofa but there is still about 18' more carpet/foam pad under the sofa. So my question is can I just unbolt the sofa (it's sitting on carpet), remove that carpet and take off the plywood sheet on top of the slide out frame to get to the wet carpet/pad? And lastly there is one slide out roller that was originally riding on the carpet/foam pad and now with that gone do I need to do anything so that there are no problems operating the side out.
Thanks in advance for all replies,

By all means unbolt the couch to help dry that area.

As for the plywood sheet, are you sure there is one? I've not owned an HR coach, but a friend has a 2004 Endeavor and the slide floor in his is a solid piece of plywood - not layered.

You may also find seatbelts, etc. When removing those items please make sure the bolts cannot sneak down and extend under the slide out floor. The caution is to make sure you do NOT pull the slide IN or OUT if there is a bolt extending down.

I almost did this after removing my jack-knife sofa and installed a credenza with TV. I removed the seatbelts that were behind the sofa, wiggled them a little and figured they were tight enough to leave. Later that day, after doing some work (pulling carpet/etc.) I was sitting outside and happened to look under the extended slide to see one of the seat belt bolts dangling about 2" below the floor of the slideout. Eeeekkk! I pulled all the bolts and patched the holes.

If I had pulled the slides in I would have wrecked the trim around the slideout, jammed the bolts and/or stripped the drive gears of the slide.

Okay - long story - DONE.
