Silde out no power one way URGENT!!!

Hi All,

Sitting stuck on the way to Denver. My electric slide out will not open. This slide is connected to the intellitec system. One button out and another for in. I traced the wires to the intellitec box and when I measure voltage I get good voltage and see that it switches polarity.

When I check the same voltage at the motor I get good voltage when the "IN" button is pressed but not when the "OUT".

I tried to check connectivity (OHM) between the two terminals that connect to the motor and it shows "closed" circuit although no buttons are pushed. Not sure if this is right or not.

Where do I go from here???

We had the same issue a couple days ago. Pulled the cover over the switch plate and lo and behold a wire had worked its way loose. Voila!! No further problem.

In my case I get voltage (in or out) to the intellitec box. It is after that box that something is not working since I get voltage IN to the motor but not OUT.

Thanks for trying!!

Just read your post to my DH. My husband says a relay could be the problem. He said there is a printed circuitboard near the slideout that has replaceable relays on it. Check the polarity on the relay. You might need a new relay. (He had a similar problem happen on our Monaco Camelot.)

Thanks! I see two relays, not sure if they are related to the slide but will take a look.

Presidio,

Have you checked the voltage at the slide motor connection when the switch is depressed?

Motor move in the IN direction but not the OUT direction. There is 12.7V when I press the IN switch and 0v when I press the OUT switch.

I don't know how to jump the reply. I did switch the motor wires around so when I press IN it goes out.

Switching the wires points to a failed relay.

At least you can use your RV and travel, be much worse if slide would not retract.

These are the 3 relays I have. One of them get very hot. It makes a "click" when I connect the wire to it. The other two don't make the sound unless I press the in or out buttons.

Here is a link to the relay :

How can I test them?

Ron said it looks like to him you already tested it by switching the wires and seeing that it functioned!

He said that the relay is replaceable, but needs to be done by someone with experience, since it involves getting the old relay OUT of the circuit board and replacing it IN the circuit board. We had ours repaired by Elite R&R RV Restoration Elite R&R RV Restorations - We restore, renovate and repair RV trailers They are awesome and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
