Slide Adjustment??
AS I was driving the MH back from getting new tires I hit a bump in the road and heard a bang noise from behind me. I looked up behind me and noticed the slide was moving as I hit rough spots in the road. When I got home I looked from the inside of the MH up at the front and back top corners where the slide moves in and out. On the back one I could see light from outside. I went to the outside and found that although the slide is in all the way at the bottom, it is out about 1/2-3/4 inch at the top. Can an adjustment fix this? Anyone ever have this happen to their MH?

Joe, sounds like some of the slide mech. has come loose, or the slide "Box" has separated. I guess you haven't tried to extend the slide and inspect?

I extended the slide in and out several times with no problems. The bottom of the slide is flush when in but the whole top appears to be 1/2" or so out. I took her for a ride and turned right several times to see if the slide would go out further, but it doesn't.
Back in Sep/Oct I tried a few things so that I could get the slide skids not to scratch/gouge the laminate flooring I wanted to put in. One of my DUMBEST ideas was to run oak door thresholds the length of the slide so that when it came in it had to come over an extra 3/4" thinking that it would raise the plastic skids enough to prevent the damage to the flooring. Well I ended up breaking an end skid and the slide was at an angle. I found the same plastic but couldn't get it formed like National did. So I attached the old skid to the new piece and it worked great. I then did the Bosses "I told you so" idea and installed carpet under the slide area and laminate else where. Looks great.
So I'm wondering if when I tried my thing if the slide mechanism jumped a tooth or what ever and perhaps it can be adjusted to correct it.
Any thoughts??????????????????????????????

Joe, if just the top is not seated, I wouldn't think the rack and pinion gear jumped a tooth, or the bottom would also be out. Is it possible the "Box" raised, causing a bind, thus stopping the motor?

Fixed it. Used the search tool on here and found a post by Gary RVRoamer about what I was having. I went out this morning and removed the nice thick plush carpet padding and everything is back where it belongs.
My carpet plus the pad was too thick. My slide moves in and out on plastic skids and when in, these skids sitting on top of the carpet caused the slide to tilt back.
Thanks for the comments. Just gotta love this forum.
BTW, I posted a warning on this Forum about not making the same mistake. Lesson learned.
