Slide Out issue: 05 Monaco Class A Windsor PDQ

I have a 40 ft Monaco Windsor with 4 slides. I am having trouble with the right rear bedroom slide (has cabinets and TV in it). The problem is when I retract or extend the slide it goes out uneven (the front side seems loose). My question is I can not see any way to inspect the slide mechanism for damage? It is electric on a gear drive. Does anyone know how to access or have any schematics? pictures to help? My email is Davelawyer66@Yahoo.com.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Sorry I don't have an answer for that problem.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Try putting this is the Monaco section and you may get some better answers. I myself would like to know what you can do.

This should post on the monaco owners site. Maybe a moderator will move it over.

If we have the same slide, you can access one of the bars from in the battery compartment. The other one is accessed through the wheel well. there is heavy plastic on the top of the wheel well that you have to remove.

Rollers are a major pain to access. I had to replace one last fall, and I had to remove the slide.

Check the hardware under the slide. Be sure it's all connected. Also check for any rot on the slide floor (looking from outside). Common for dryrot and there is a easy cure (fairly inexpensive too) if you catch it early enough.

Not doubting you...OK, I am. That vintage Monaco had a gear driven bed slide and three hydraulic. When the slide is out is there approx 6" between the wall and the wood trim around the side??? If so it's hydraulic and pushing with your foot on the side that is dragging made mine go out on my 04 Dynasty.

My 06 Windsor has 4 slides, all electric. I'm not sure about the 05's. OP may have to verify so we can give him good info.

"Dlawyer".....I rebuilt all three slides on my 05 Diplomat. I can pretty much bet that the bolt fell out of one side of your drive gear. You have the electric motor that is centered in the slide and drives an arm to the rear and to the front. Monaco used a soft bolt and really weird (soft nut) that eventually work loose.

At both ends where the bolt runs through the drive arm, there is an access port. One port may be inside a bay at the roof line, while others are located in a wheel well. As stated above, you'll find a large plastic removable plate.

Once you locate these openings, check to see that the bolt is still running through the drive axle. You may have to move one of the axles a small amount to get the hole lined up to replace the bolt (clocking).
