Slide out lubricant

Hi everyone,
I currently own 2012 fleetwood discovery 40g. This is my 3rd motorhome. My first motorhome I always lubed my slide out gears. 2nd one I never did. I’m not really sure what the right answer is. I’ve read mixed things, some say yes, some say never. I know the ones that do say use a dry lube and nothing that will attract road grime. I have one full wall hydraulic slide and one smaller electric slide. Wondering what the “right” thing to do is.

Some say to lube and some say not to. Lippert told one not to lube a Swintec, but has a post on how to lube it. If you are going to lube a slide, only use a dry silicone spray lube. Do not use standard silicone spray, because it will leave a sticky film that dirt and dust will stick to. You should have the names of the manufacture of the slides in the rigs documentation. Look on their web sites and on utube. Be careful of utube only, because it may or may not be correct information.

I wonder if dry graphite would work too, that stuff is amazing at sticking to metals, I use it a lot on key cylinders and anywhere you don't want sticky grease or to attract road grim, the only downside is if you get it on ANY surface, it STAYS there and leaves a pencil lead smudge

Problem is dry graphite is not recommended by the manufactures. So long as you have a warranty, do not even think of using it. Otherwise?

This is what Winnebago Factory Serivice recommended for my slideouts, both hydraulic and Swintec electric. I use it every month in summer during my 7 week trip. I also, used it this winter during my 3 month trip. I just use it sparingly and only 2 times this winter. While I stayed on the ocean. I also, use a portable power wash 320 psi to clean the slides weekly. Especially during the pollen season in South Carolina.

What I saw is Schwintek/Lippert stated don't lube the RACKS. Only lube the gears.

I read that too, after I had already sprayed with Dry Silicone spray. I've since taken a rag and hand cleaned the racks, and have just sprayed the gears with a straw spray from the can. I do it about every other trip.
