Slide out question

My slide outs are not working with out shore power, should work with the generator correct?

A lot of people say that they have had slide problems when their battery voltage is low. You say yours only works WITH shore power. That means your batteries are getting a charge voltage from the inverter.
Measure your battery voltage when shore power is NOT connected. Should be about 12.2V.

Genset and shore power are the same as far as inverter or converter output are concerned, so it should work - or not - the same on both. If it doesn't, perhaps the auto transfer switch isn't operating right.

It also seems that the batteries aren't adequate on their own, but newer coaches require that the engine be running when operating the slides and may have an interlock to assure that.

I think slides should work with battery power only. I had a similar problem and after some nervous investigation I found a wire coupler that was disconnected.
