Slide out rubber seals

Anyone have a fix for the seals on a slide-out? When slides are extended, I need to pull out the seal, for it doesn't come out correctly. Thx

Welcome to the forum!

I suggest lubricating the slide out seals. Also, wash and wax the exterior rv surfaces that slide against the rubber seals. All the best.

Actually, if you wax the slides the seals won't come out. They depend on friction to flip out the correct way. One of the best way's I've seen is to run a strip of foam tape down the slide just behind the seal that will catch it and pull it out with the slide.

I bought a roll of body side molding and installed a strip down each end of the slide. I installed them about 2" from the front edge and they sweep the seals in and out. My MH is in storage so I can't post a picture right now.

Something like this works well. Place in the middle of slide and it turns going in and out.

A friend mentioned this to me as well, except he used two strips, one for retracting and one for extending. My concern is that the abrasiveness might damage the weather seal.

Are those actually seals or just wire seals to wipe off any moisture or dirt that would follow the side of the slide wall into the coach.

I was of the understanding that if it isn't flipped all the way in one direction that is okay as it is still doing it's "wiping" job.

Was I informed incorrectly as it seems this seal doesn't seal the slide to the body very well.
