Slide out wiper seal

I know information on this subject has been posted in the past but I am unable to find it. My wiper seal stays in when my slide is out. There was a post that suggested putting a couple of pieces of ??? that was purchased at Loews. The idea sounded good but now I have misplaced the information on the part #. Anyone with the part number or a better idea?

As some have said elsewhere the wipers seal in either direction.

Doesn't hurt it to stay in any position, it is just that, a wiper seal. The seal to the slide is on the outside frame and the inside frame of the slide. You can feel it with you hand.


303 spray will help and need to be redone over time. For the wiper seal spray some 303 Aerospray on a rag, put it through the awning tool (hole end) and push it up along the inside of the seal. Spray the rag again and wipe down the outside of the seal.



If it doesn't fold out when the slide is extended use the awning tool if it is offensive to you and just push it gently up on the inside of the wiper seal.

It is a wiper to get water off of the slide when it retracts. It doesn't matter whether it flips or not it will still wipe. If it bothers you do as Wayne said and use the awning tool to flip it out.

I agree either in or out but when only part of the wiper is in and the other is out leads to a leak on the inside.

How can it leak to the inside when there is a seal on the edges of the slideout on the inside. If water is getting in there isn't a good seal.

Same goes for when the slide is in, the seal is on the outside of the slide on the inside edges.

If there is a leak on the inside then it is from residue on the outside of the slide.

If one were so inclined a squeegee could be carried, like at the truck stops and before retracting the slide the squeegee could be used on the outside walls of the slide. That is overkill but may give peace of mind.
