Slide starts to extend/retract then hesitates

The bedroom slide on my '07 American Coach Tradition hesitates when extending and retracting. It's as if the switch is not making contact. When it hesitates I release the spring loaded switch and then re-activate and it works but this happens several times during the extend and retract cycle.
This started happening a couple of months ago and is getting worse.
Any suggestions? TIA

My bedroom slide does a similar thing on the way in only. I found that the slide tips out a bit as it travels and binds up a little. For the short term, I've been pulling mine in about 8 inches, then giving it a little tug near the top corner to straighten it back up before pulling it all the way in.

If you think it's the switch, you could remove the control panel from the wall and try connecting the wires together by hand. Most slide out control switches I've seen are 3 wires going to the switch, 1 12v hot wire, 1 wire to extend, and 1 to retract.

Thanks BCart, that's a good way to test the switch. I was thinking more likely it was a relay, but I will test the switch first by connecting the hot and neutral wires.

Have you lived your slide recently? Might be binding up. Just a thought.

If you meant Lubed, I don't think my slides are supposed to be lubed.

I tried again by pressing the switch firmly in both the in and out position and the slide did not hesitate so it's probably me just not pressing the switch firmly enough.
