Cool Slide Topper mid-support?

I have a 24 foot slide with a topper that has a support in the center. The support is in the way of me putting on a window awning. Is it OK to relocate the support off center? if so, How far off center? lastly, Is the center support necessary?

little bit of clarification:
it's on the outside of the slide, has rollers to support the cylinder of the topper as it goes out & back in.

From my experience with my 21' awning ; yes the support is necessary, as the roller tube of that length will sag under it's own weight.

The 14' slide awning on my coach doesn't have a center support , so I'd venture a guess that your support could be moved up to two feet off center and still be effective.

The only thing I'd be concerned about is that slide toppers have backing plates as the wall, etc. Won't support it. Be careful

Move the first one and buy a second one. Install them so the awning is supported in equal sections.
