Slideout cover doesn't roll up anymore.

I replaced both of the slideout covers 2 years ago. This summer the larger slideout failed to retract. I have to get up there on a ladder hand manually help it along. I m wondering if I should tighten the tension, or maybe clean out each end of the spring mechanism with spray cleaner and try again.

Thanks for any suggestions,eh?

Brad

Can you post a pic of your awning arms. Are they the question mark type? Does the spring just need a little help rolling up? You can put a couple more turns on the spring. If you have the ? mark type, I can tell you how to do it.

The spring might have broke, You'll have to take it apart to really tell. If so then just replace the spring, I think I have one in my RV yard sale stuff.

It will work after I help it get started, so I don't believe the spring is broken. Our roof was FILTHY,FILTHY,FILTHY earlier this year. I m thinking some of that grundge may have gotten into the works when I cleaned the roof and gummed it up.

I sometimes have trouble with birds building nests under the slide out aluminum cover.
