sliding generator!

after traveling over bumpy roads my generator (which is located on the front of the coach) tends to slide out a couple of inches. No problem to push the button to retract it but wondering why there isn't a locking mechanism to prevent this.........or is there??

I was pretty surprised about this too as we found out the hard way. Under heavy braking ours came out this year - fortunately it didn't come out completely but it did come out enough (past the rail stops) that the front end of the generator fell to the ground and was rubbing when I tried to drive away.

Right now I've got 2 tiedown straps (I think each has a breaking strength of 2400lbs) making sure it can't release again while we're on the road but when I get it home in the spring I'm planning on drilling a hole in the rail and I'll insert a hitch pin so that it can't move unless the hitch pin is removed.
