Small flaw on new RV
I bought a Coachmen Pursuit 29ss a month ago. The inspection missed on small flaw I found later. Wondering if I should just fill this void with Geoflex or if I need to take it in and have the dealer do something under warranty or if there is something else I should do.
The seal between the fiberglass front cab and the sidewall has a gap at the bottom. See attached pics. The gap is about half an inch and change.

Does this join for the front cap and side look any better on the other side?

In my opinion, I assume that it would depend on where the dealer is located. If they are down the street, certainly plan to let them fix it now.
If they are a good distance from where you live, at the least I would call them and eventually get it fixed with the rest of what will need attention.
I wouldn’t patch it without first contacting them.
You can always fix it yourself later.

All other joints look good. No other gaps anywhere on the unit. Other side is perfect.

I contacted them last week and showed them the pics. They said it's probably not worth the hassle of warranty service because it's no where near the floor or anything else that could be damaged by water, and just fill the void. The dealer is about an hour away. But I don't have a lot of trust in dealer service departments so I ask here before just doing what they said.
I have 10 months left on the warranty, so maybe I could do that and just watch to ensure the gap doesn't get any bigger? And if it does grow then take it in?

Use blue masking tape on both body parts, fill with sealer and then remove tape for a clean line. I guarantee it will be nicer than what the dealer does.

Ditto and use the clear geocel rv proflex.
I would start from the top and work my way down.
Apply sparingly and trowel smooth with a finger dipped in a heavy concentration of Dawn and some water. Wipe finger with a paper towel.
With Pro Flex, I find only applying 12" or so at a time works best vs anything longer. The end of this short caulk run will taper down when troweled and you can start your next caulk segment right on top of the taper you just made. Repeat until done.
You can apply geocel over itself once dry and I would build it up over the bigger gaps, if necessary, vs trying to fill a big gap all at once.

OP,
If that is a piece of vinyl trim covering the joint and held on with just a screw at the bottom, you could use a hair dryer and a heavy glove to heat it and push it in to conform better. That will take a whole lot less calking material.
If there is only one screw holding the bottom, you could add another to hold it secure.
I did that to some trim on mine a while ago.

I would not start filling it with caulk. Those two pieces should look like the other side. I would look underneath and see why it is not together like the other side. It is below the floor and there will be no internal leak.

Thanks, I'll check underneath and see if there's a screw to tighten first, and then fill after I've done that, with the tape method. Appreciate the help.

One option hasn't been discussed ... Under warranty? Take it back and have them repair it. Hold their feet to the fire. I don't have a problem w/DIY, but it's my feeling that they knew and were hoping you wouldn't notice. You make the repair yourself and you're 100% on your own no matter the outcome.
Good luck
