SNOWBIRD PROPANE use refill in FL

Iíve been curious how you snow birds in Florida handle propane usage. Letís say you heat and run your hot water off propane, are there vendors that will fill your tank on site? Do you use and extend a stay supplement tank or do you have to take a ride to fill your onboard tank? I realize that use depends on temps, but if your there for 5 months +/- whatís your experience.

Thinking about how to handle this down the road for us.

Thank you!

We use a company called Gas Taxi not cheap but there come to your site. Check to see if your resort allows LP delivery.

Many variables. If campground has arrangement with LP gas supplier then you can get it in the campground which is probably the most expensive. But usually they fill all you tanks and charge for the total gallons supplied. If your tanks are portable or you have an Extend a Stay, you can take tanks to a lower cost supplier.

If you can take a short trip in your RV check with the local Tractor Supply. A lot of them have a drive through lane near the propane fill location and usually the price is competitive.

Some places will allow local propane delivery trucks to come and refill your motorhome tanks, others will not. There is generally an additional delivery fee.

Tractor supply is generally the cheaper places to get refills. The other day, our local Tractor Supply had propane for $3.69/gallon......OUCH.

CG allowing vendor on site (highest cost per gallon)
CG having their own Propane Fill site (have to move RV)
Extend-A Stay with portable cylinder (easy method)
Driving to get refill via local propane vendor site (Again have to drive RV and leave CG)

My propane lasts a few days short of 3 months, down south of Miami.

2 years in a row, we ran out a few days before departure so we now have an extend a stay type tee.
