Wink So new. So much to learn. Battery help!

New batteries in AGAIN! Want to hook up a trickle, 4 6 V batteries for Coach. Do I disconnect any cables before I hook the batteries? I would assume top left (Pos)and top Right (Neg) OR bottom Left and bottom Right. Just don't know if I need to turn anything off or disconnect cables. Sorry ahead of time for such a stupid question. Just learning!

There shouldn't be any need to disconnect anything prior and it sounds like you are on the right track, one positive side and one negative side.

Exactly, easiest way to do it right is connect to the house/chassis ground and hot where they mount on the wall

Welcome to the Forum.
If you are connecting a 12 volt battery charger to 6 volt batteries, then be careful not to connect it to one 6 volt battery. The 6v batteries are wired in pairs with a cable from + on one battery to - on the other. This makes the two 6v batteries like a single 12v battery.
Connect the 12 volt charger to the terminals that have the main cables coming from the coach.
If you are unsure, you can post a picture and we can guide you through connecting the charger.

Now, why are the batteries dying?
Have you checked the water level in the batteries?
What year model coach do you have?

But not to one positive and one negative of the same battery. A 12 volt charger on a 6 volt battery is going to be a surprise and a problem.

Thank you very much. Turns out the Heart Inverter/charger has gone out. replacing with a xantrex. Also looking into getting a Tiffin to upgrade. Have had this coach since 2000. Love it but time to move on. Never have taken the time to learn the big stuff myself and I think it is time even though I am female! LOL

My daughter weighs 105. She started changing her car's oil and filters, doing her brake jobs and pulling her dash to get at her bad radio connection at 17. She's married now and 35 still does the work if she has time. I guess she's just as cheap as I am!

Being female simple means you might be able to fit into smaller places to get the job finished. But, even that is a generalization, isn't it?
