solar charging when lit
Ok on my dash board my 2007 newmar kountry star 3916 there's this knob that says solar charging when lit. It not lit but there is also a monitor on the back wall that shows its working. Should both be working together, is there a fuse for the knob on the dash. we bought this unit used and it had no manuels.

John the solar may have been added aftermarket
If you can identify the panel and the knob someone may be able to help
Better yet if you can post some photos

Does it look like this?
If so, that is a factory 10 watt (?) solar panel wired directly to the chassis batteries….. it does very little….maybe helps to offset the parasitic drain from ECM etc.
If you have something else, it is probably aftermarket installed by previous owner. Go up on roof and see what type and how many solar panels are installed.

The factory chassis maintainer panel has to be full sun; to light up the led on the dash; and has a 5 amp fuse on the front Newmar fuse panel .
The monitor in the rear was either a factor option or aftermarket ,
The small panel with the led in dash , has probably been by-passed.
