Spare 22.5" wheel

I am looking to buy a 22.5" steel wheel so that I can mount a tire and carry it as a spare.
Does anyone know for sure if this is the wheel that I need to order for my 2017 F53 22K lb chassis? https://buytruckwheels.com/products/...gaAvGHEALw_wcB
Wheel looks to be correct but I am wondering about that 221 hub bore diameter.
Anyone know of a good wheel source?

Try looking up the 2017 F53 chassis specs - they should be online at Ford Fleet site. It will have the wheel details. Just make sure you are looking at your configuration - the 22k chassis.

Yes, I have that document in a pdf file but it only gives wheel size and offsets, not the center bore measurement.
I guess I will need to pull a front cap and measure the distance to see if it is 221mm.
I sure wish that I could just find a used wheel but I haven't had any luck.

I will probably place it on a receiver mounted tire carrier like this one... https://www.etrailer.com/Spare-Tire-...RM-195225.html

I just bought a new spare tire and wheel last month for mine. I purchased my rim from Ford Parts America. Brand new OEM wheel for $167 shipped.

https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts...9z-1015-b.html

Just type in your VIN number to double check with yours being a newer yr.

That'll work without having a toad to contend with! But will you ever get the chance to use it?

Can you lift over 200# and remove and replace lug nuts torqued to 450#? If not, you should just buy an unmounted spare tire and let the RA guy change out the tire. That way you are not stuck waiting for a tire on weekends or holidays when everything is closed.

That wheel will not fit ! The lug pattern is correct the center bore is correct ! BUT when you try and put it on the back side hits the caliper and it will not go on all the way ! It's made in china and the inside of the wheel is to small !!! Ask me how I know ??

Think about it.

A steel 22.5 wheel and tire is extremely heavy, your RV is extremely heavy to jack-up you will need a large jack, the lug nuts require almost 500 ft/lbs of torque. If it falls on you it will kill you.
So just get some roadside service and don't carry a spare.

I bought my spare rim at WheelerFleet.com. It was shipped fast, packaged good, and arrived in perfect shape. Everyone says that if you have a spare that you'll never use it. I am counting on that.

I put together a spare and all the tools needed to change it. Made my own spare tire carrier that mounts to the frame between the gas tank and hitch. It has a twelve volt ATV wench to raise and lower the tire. Practiced changing the tire on front and rear. I boondock a lot and didn't want to chance not being able to get a spare. You don't even know it's their and doesn't alter the hitch.

As a service manager for 15 years, I heard lots of stories from customers about road service. No cell service out west. Long, long waits for help. Unable to find help. Etc.
I carry a spare tire and would not leave home without it. I had a 5 year old
Goodyear tire blow out in 2015. It was a factory defect. It blew out at the sidewall next to the rim. It was between the duals. No way something could have hit the tire. I hit my timer as I got out of the motorhome. 31 minutes later I was pulling back out into the interstate. I was 75 years old at the time.
No roadside tire service for me.

I bought a spare and tire - I figured if I buy it I will never need it. My first trip out with the spare I damaged a tire and had to use it.

I also have Roadside assistance so I can call to have someone else install it, but I also have the tools to do it myself. I figure if the Coach is in a bad spot (like I'm on the shoulder if highway and blown tire is on driver's side, or the weather is real bad, I'll let the Tire guy have at it). On the trip where I needed to install the spare, I just did it myself because I didn't want to wait 4- 6 hours for a tire guy.
