Spartan Power Steering leak...

The power steering on our 2002 Dutchstar Diesel with a Spartan chassis died. We need a new pump and have been informed by Spartan that they do not have any pumps in stock and they will not be available until the end of October. I tried to have it re-sealed but the hydraulic's shop said the pump had a crack and I would have to get another pump.

The hyd shop researched and said that Parker had a pump that would work, but they wanted $1800.00 plus a 30% mark-up...just for the pump. The Spartan pump is $736 from Casappa when available. Spartan #1441-FF1-001....Has anyone ever ran into this issue

No, not really and you'd think that somebody would have an OEM, besides Spartan. I will agree that Spartan doesn't rip you off, when it comes to parts, like most others. Also, you'd think that someone out there sells rebuild units, like maybe NAPA. I'm assuming it couldn't be welded, either.
Is the fluid reservoir on the pump, itself?

It is the pump....it’s manufactured in Italy. Seems to be poor planning on keeping them in stock...especially if it is the only one you can use...

Perhaps some time searching will be fruitful. Try contacting Casappa Pumps from Hydraulics Online. Fast worldwide delivery. | Hydraulic Pumps
and: CASAPPA POWER STEERING PUMP: nwrvsupply.com
and of course: https://www.casappa.com/ and inquiring about U.S.A. locations that may have your specific pump in stock.
