Speedometer problem

Hello I have a 1993 Newmar Londonaire. When I turn on the key to the on position the speedometer swings all the way right and it stays there. I'm thinking the problem is with the speedo head itself. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I had a similar failure. Call Newmar to get the VDO replacement part number. Then check Amazon and e-bay. The new one will need to be calibrated (pretty simple to do using a gps as a reference). I have a name of a shop in Ft. Lauderdale that will add miles to the new one so that it matches your old one. I hope this helps.

I'm still having trouble with my speedometer needle fluctuating and pegging out. I pulled the gauge and it bench checked. I also had the ecu rebuilt because it was dead. I had hoped the problem was with it since the speedometer signal is supplied through there. Any suggestions?

Not sure about your powertrain, or model, but on other pushers I've heard the outputshaft sensor Mentioned, for incorrect speed readings.

On my previous coach HR Imperial the speedo and tach would bounce all over or stick in one spot. It was a ground issue with mine. Also the connections on the back of the guages were loose.
