Split Bathrooms
We are looking at the Class A DP motor homes in the 36'- 38' range from about 2007 to 2014) and find that most have the split bathrooms (shower separate from the toilet and sink). DW does not think she would like this. Anyone have any opinions on this? Pros/Cons?
Thanks

My wife does not like any separation of bathroom fixtures.

It’s a good idea.... allows 2 to access facilities at same time. If someone is using shower, and you need to use toilet .... most would not want to be side-by-side.

Well, when one has to #2 while the other has to shower, she might change her mind. I completely LOVE my whiff-proof water closet, with it's own suck-the-toilet-paper-off-the-roll exhaust fan.

Whomever is using the shower gets complete use of both sides of the split bath and "The Hallway". Also access to the bedroom is unhindered. There is just the two of us and we both can still plan ahead. I know it is almost my turn when I hear the hair dryer quit.
Add in any number of urgency scenarios and YMMV>

Does she realize there is most likely a pocket door in the hallway that essentially combines the shower with the rest of the bathroom (and bedroom) when it is closed? Take her to see the bath/shower in a Class B and she will fall in love with the idea of a shower across the hall!

We did not think we would like the split bathroom, but we find it much better than our old all in one. I put a latch on the bathroom door to close off the whole area.

We had the split bath on our Itasca and liked it really well. Privacy and "containment" for the toilet and plenty of room for the shower. The only thing better in my humble opinion is the bath and a half we've had in the last two coaches.

That's been my routine for years :-)

I'm only the second one here to vote for the enclosed bath. Nice and warm in the winter/cool in summer. Don't like having to close off areas. As usual- to each his own.

We have a split bathroom with a sink in the toilet room and a second sink next to the shower. So, we each have our own bathroom sink with upper and lower storage. DW gets the sink in the toilet room so she can close the door while getting ready for her day in privacy. Works great for us!

We both love the nice roomy split bath. Never use pocket doors, open bathroom room door and bathroom and bedroom are all yours. Of coarse there is just the two of us!

That is how our MH is designed, I added a medicine cabinet in the commode room for my essentials. DW has the shower and vanity room, as it has a very large lighted mirror and lots of room for her to do her girly things.
See floor-plan in my signature link.

Or a one and a quarter bath model which works out really well for us. I believe Newmar had a 37' Ventana model in that configuration in 2014. We like it because we have the full bath in the back with a washer/dryer plus a mid-ship bath for use while we're en route to our next destination, and of course two toilets for those times when ya both gotta go.
